I have been slacking on my updating recently, so I figure I might just cram it all into one post. So here it goes...
Had my first appointment on April 5th, everything went good. It was a standard first appointment. Met with a nurse who talked about pregnancy in general, gave me a few papers of Do's and Don'ts. Got my blood drawn and a few other smalls things. Oh, and I got an ultrasound :) It was very cool getting to see my little blob so early. Steve almost cried, and loved getting to see the little heart beating away on the screen.
I returned two weeks later on April 18th to meet with my actual Doctor. All my normal vitals were good, then she got out the doppler to hear the heartbeat. She was having a little trouble finding it, but said she did catch it for a second. Instead of having me wait a week and then come back, she went a grabbed an ultrasound machine and let us take a quick peak, "Off the record" she said. :) Baby looks as cute as last time, only was much more active. Squirming all over. This time Steve did actually lose a tear I think. Afterwards, she tried the doppler again now that she knew where baby was and we got to finally hear that sweet little beating heart.
I go back again tomorrow, May 16th. I went two weeks after my last Doctor appointment before I caved and bought an at home doppler. Apparently I have a lot less will power this time around, and am worrying a bit more. I have been listening to Baby a few times that past few weeks to make sure everything is okay. Makes me a little sad about tomorrow's appointment, because with my first It was always SO awesome getting to hear him at every appointment. I may need to lock up my doppler so I can still have that excitement.
I did finally tell my mother, as well as everyone else I know. They all took the news very well and are excited for us. My mom has even been giving me name ideas. Some are cute, while others are..well...:)
Here is my first belly picture...taken at 12 weeks. Only slightly there!
Until Next time....

I have a doppler too and love it! I didn't start to find the heartbeat until 13 weeks though and now I pick it up instantly.
